Fly on the Wall

The recent fly swarms around here got me thinking–wouldn’t it be awesome to be a fly on the wall of a published author? Hell yeah it would.

This past Saturday, that fly was me. And that wall–well, there were four of them–the four walls of the ARTS building in Fayetteville. That published author, the award-winning and bestselling author, Beth Wiseman.

Beth has authored 15 novels and novellas, with more on the way. They include the Daughters of the Promise series, the Land of Canaan series, and her first contemporary novel, Need You Now. You can learn more about Beth and her work from her website and her blog.

This was my first writer’s workshop, and what a better way to get a move on my writing career than to have such an accomplished and inspiring teacher give me a little push in the right direction.

Speaking of a little push in the right direction, I would like to thank my friend, Heather, and her blog–specifically the quote on her blog, which reads:

“I figure if a girl wants to be a legend, she should go ahead and be one.”-Calamity Jane

Heather, this simple statement truly made me BUCK UP BABY and just go for it! I’ve always had my head in the clouds and my nose in a book, dreaming of writing the “great American novel.” No time like the present.

Follow me on my journey?
